Trihawk General Contractors is committed to making our website usable by as many people as possible, including those who rely on assistive technologies.
Standard We Target
We aim to conform with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with disabilities, and more usable for everyone.
What We've Done
- Built the site on semantic HTML with proper landmarks
(
<header>,<main>,<nav>,<section>,<footer>). - Used a single, hierarchical
<h1>–<h3>heading structure on every page. - Provided descriptive alt text on meaningful images and
aria-hidden="true"on decorative ones. - Designed text and interactive elements to meet the WCAG 2.1 contrast minimums against their backgrounds.
- Made the site keyboard-navigable, with visible focus styles on every interactive element.
- Respected
prefers-reduced-motion— every page-load animation and scroll-triggered animation has a reduced-motion fallback. - Labeled form fields with
<label>elements andaria-requiredwhere appropriate, with a hidden honeypot instead of a CAPTCHA to avoid blocking screen-reader users.
Known Limitations
We're not perfect. Some areas we're actively improving:
- A small number of decorative SVG illustrations on the home banner
don't yet have full text equivalents (they're flagged
aria-hiddenand the heading immediately above conveys the message). - Embedded third-party content (e.g., future map embeds) may have accessibility issues outside our direct control.
